Blood & Plunder - Milices des Caraibes

I'm finally back. Ran out of everything from glue to paint to motivation, but I have finally gotten some more models painted.

This time, it's (yet again) Blood & Plunder, this time French Milices des Caraibes (which I will refer to as Caribbean Militia, French Militia or just Militia, since I will foul up the spelling otherwise).

Two units, a grand total of 13 models, have been painted. 13th one is kind of lucky. I bought 3 packs of 4 for an intended 2 units of 6. But one of the packs had a mistake, with a badly cast figure (not to mention being of the "wrong" sculpt). Firelock, being the awesome company they are, quickly sent me a replacement. This 13th figure, however, could be repaired with a bit of trimming and green stuff-ing. End result, 13 figures (and my intended list goes up to 200 points exactly).

First unit. These fellows are a bit different from their Spanish or English counterparts. Where both of those have quite good melee skill, and are pants at resisting fire from muskets (and can only in turn hit stuff by great volume of fire), the french are worse at melee combat, but much better at ranged combat, both with firing and dodging the return fire.

While bad at melee, they do have a few tricks up their sleeves. First of all, they're the only militia with pistols (well, one single-shot pistol each). And secondly, they can mount bayonets, which work similar to lances in that they're long staves with sharp stuff at one end (it does kind of limit your fire while mounted, though). And thirdly, they can be upgraded for a more hit-and-run tactic.

Now, with these finished, I will most likely take a break from painting Blood & Plunder for some time. I have some other stuff that I want to get cleared away (and some evil people at the club are tempting me with other games...)
